Students of class pre primary performed an activity to investigate the stretchiness of an elastic band. Students attached 2 plastic bags with elastic bands and add materials in both the bags. 1 bag contains less things than other. After adding things in bags, they measure the length by an inch tape or ruler. This way got to know that, bag which carrying more number of things stretches the most.

Changing materials- Pre Primary
As part of science curriculum, topic changing materials was incorporated with the help of hands on activity. Students collected 1hard & 1 soft thing and observed whether it can change shape by stretching, squashing, twisting & bending. They found that it is easy to change the shape of soft things compared to hard /rigid things.
The very next day, they collected 4 types of materials that is, metal, plastic, rubber & fabric and try to bend, stretch, squash and twist the things to find if it changes shape. Later they recorded their results in tabular form.

Sorting Material- Pre Primary
Students collected 10 things from their surroundings and asked to make groups by sorting materials of same kind. for eg- by keeping all the metals in one group, then they made a group for plastic materials, rough things and smooth things etc. This helps students to identify things by observing and testing the materials.

Sorting Fabrics- Pre Primary
Students kept 5 samples of fabric such as cotton, silk, denim, wool & jute and magnifying glass. They were asked to closely observe the fabrics through magnifying glass and made comparisons between fabrics. Also, they looked for the fibres which help them to describe the fabrics more easily. This activity helped them develop the scientific enquiry skill by collecting evidence through their observation. Then they sort fabrics from smoothest to roughest.
