English Skills- Pre Primary

 In English Skills class, to build vocabulary,  students were asked to keep newspaper or magazine and they were given the words to find in it. For eg: words having vowels in their beginning, full stops, capital letters, ch, sh, wh words & conjunction 'and'.







Nutrition Week- Pre Primary

Nutrition week is celebrated in 1st week of September. Students of class pre primary performed in 2 activities that is- Guess the food and salty potato experiment. In guess the food activity children were given riddles related to food and asked to tell that whether the particular food is nutritious or not. 

In salty potato experiment, children kept 2 bowls of water and asked to add 1tsp of salt in 1 bowl, after that they were given the cut potatoes and place the same with cut side down in 2 different bowls for 25- 30 minutes.  

Observation: the salt water draws water out of the potato, causing it to shrivel. 

Application: Salty food and drinks make people thirsty and these items should only be eaten occasionally.

The class was ended with a note that it is necessary to eat all kinds of vegetables and fruits. Also to include pulses in diet to stay fit.

Teacher's Day

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated every year on September 5 annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice- President, and second President of Independent India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. 
Students celebrated this day by describing the importance of teachers in the form of poetry, dance, act etc. It was wonderful day spent with little ones. Here are the glimpses from the event.

Blind Folding- Pre Primary

 As part of science curriculum, Students played a game in which they need to identify objects while wearing a blindfold. They are provided with range of objects made from different materials, they held 1 object and described it by using their sense of touch, smell & hearing. They identified the objects when they cannot see them.

Exploring objects: Pre Primary

 As Part of topic- materials in my world, students explored different objects made up of different materials. They use their senses to explore objects. As touch to feel an object, sense of sight, hear,  to know properties of an object.
